90 ball bingo

For those who live in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and much of Europe, 90-ball bingo is the game that most people will automatically think of when the game ‘bingo’ is mentioned. Bingo is a probability-based game that relies entirely on luck. In its land-based format, players will mark numbers off their bingo cards in accordance with those shouted out by the ‘caller’ of the game. Online bingo follows the same routine; however, the computer will mark the numbers from your cards instead in this scenario.

Note that 90-ball bingo is not the most popular variant in other countries. For example, 75-ball bingo is far more prevalent in the United States, while other varieties, such as 30-ball, 50-ball, and 80-ball, are the games of choice in many other countries.

90 ball bingo Games list

As you can see from our extensive list of 90-ball bingo games below, we are determined to keep you up to date with the latest games created in the 90-ball format. We don’t just list these games; they are played for a significant length of time, and all include a full review for you to look at. If you'd like to view all playable bingo titles online, head to our bingo games page, where you'll find a comprehensive catalogue.

how to play 90 ball bingo

The rules of 90-ball bingo are as follows:

  • Purchase your tickets – see our strategies section below for some advice on this aspect of the game!
  • The bingo caller begins the game by calling numbers at random. Note, if the announcer's voice annoys you, why not try one of our many other bingo variants instead?
  • Each number called is automatically marked off from your bingo card(s). Note that you may prefer the simplified view option, which removes all previously shouted numbers from your card.
  • The first player to complete each of the three patterns wins a prize – see below.
  • After the winning card is verified, the player is paid, the round concludes, and a new one begins.

how do the tickets work?

A 90-ball bingo ticket consists of three rows of five numbers each, although each row also contains two blank spaces. The columns are laid out chronologically, meaning that only numbers one through three can appear on the first row, four through seven on the second, five through seven on the third and so forth. This makes for a total of 15 playable numbers on each bingo ticket (or card)

best playing strategies for 90 ball bingo

Generally speaking, the best strategy is to look out for promotions on cheap tickets or even wait for the times of day when tickets are sold for the lowest amount. The more tickets you have in a game, the better your chances are of winning on one or more of them.

90 ball progressive bingo

Many 90-Ball bingo games have a progressive jackpot linked to them, giving you a chance to win a life-changing sum of money just by playing your favourite bingo games! Examples include Deal or No Deal Bingo, Age of the Gods Bingo, Britain’s Got Talent Bingo, Fluffy Favourites Bingo, and X-Factor Bingo. However, this is by no means an exhaustive list, so be sure to check our full directory for plenty more 90-Ball Progressive games!

Note that the size of the jackpots offered in each game can vary too, but you’ll need to check that at your chosen bingo site as this can change from one room to another.

90 ball vs 75 ball bingo - which is better?

This really comes down to personal preference – the tickets are laid out differently, and 75-ball bingo is now a more evolved game in that it often involves a more complicated winning layout than simply crossing off lines or columns on your card. This matters little when playing online, but it does increase the variance somewhat – you could find you have several completed lines, but a player beats you to a win because they obtain the necessary layout pattern that was decided at the beginning of the game.

Effectively then, 90-Ball bingo is a much more straightforward game – you only need to worry about clearing those all-important first, second, and third complete horizontal lines! Of course, none of this matters if you are playing in the simplified view whereby your tickets are shown in a “number-to-go“ format.

In truth, when it comes down to which is the better, it’s often all down to what each individual player prefers, and many punters will opt to play the game that has been kindest to them in the past!

What are the differences between the various types of 90-ball bingo?

The core game of each variation remains the same, but some games include bonus rounds that allow you to top up full house winnings in some way. Note that this does increase the variance, however – most of your time spent playing bingo will not be winning full-house prizes, and the one/two-line awards will always be lower in a game with a bonus round for the full-house winner.

Can I win more than one on a 90-ball bingo card?

Yes! You can even win all three possible prizes if you are extremely lucky! The majority of other players in the chat will be sure to congratulate you should you manage such an achievement, apart from the envious few, that is!

How much can I win?

This all depends on the time of day, the number of players, the number of tickets you buy, and the price of those tickets. To give you an idea, a full house during a peak time game with hundreds of players is likely to net you in the region of 1,000x the ticket price – or more! (Note: this excludes any bonus rounds or progressive jackpot contributions!)

Is it expensive to play 90-ball bingo?

Absolutely not! The most expensive tickets I have seen were just 25p each, and I’ve even seen them selling for as little as a penny at off-peak times. Furthermore, your bankroll will last much longer whilst playing bingo compared to slot machines, roulette, or blackjack.

90 ball bingo final thoughts

Most of my favourite bingo games happen to be 90-Ball variants, but that doesn’t mean that you will necessarily feel the same! Nevertheless, I appreciate the simplicity of the ticket layout, the bonuses attached to these games, and the progressive jackpots – especially those which offer a share to all of the other players in the room whenever somebody hits one.
