Tombola’s version of Bingo Roulette was the first to appear at online bingo sites but was quickly followed by an alternative 52-Ball game published by Dragonfish. Whilst both games share identical titles and themes, this is the one which most closely resembles the game of roulette. At the time of writing, the prize pool offered for each round was somewhere in the region of about 120x the cost of a single ticket, although this is sure to vary depending on the time of day and the number of participating players.
The headline feature of this game is, of course, the roulette theme, which includes a spinning wheel used to determine each number that is called. Just like when competing at a real roulette table, several different chip colours are available, each with its own value. Tombola has opted to name the various colours after four of the biggest casinos on the Las Vegas strip – that would probably be a brave decision were the game to be offered in the United States!

Bingo RouletteThe theme of Bingo Roulette is excellently done and looks especially good when viewed on mobile devices. The screenshots we captured were by using a laptop, which doesn’t look quite as good but does provide some extra space which allows you to view both the game and chat windows simultaneously. As mentioned in the opening paragraph, this game is not to be confused with Dragonfish’s version of Bingo Roulette – you can find that one offered over at 888 Bingo, whilst this one is exclusive to Tombola.
Bingo Roulette does not use any traditional bingo tickets as such – instead, each player is given eight chips positioned around the roulette wheel on randomly-determined numbers. If you aren’t happy with the numbers picked for you, then you can use the shuffle button to move your chips around right up until the start of the first call. Each player is permitted up to four ‘tickets’ for each game, and these are – somewhat confusingly – denoted by different coloured chips, despite the opening screen showing each chip with a different price attached to it.

Bingo Roulette GameplayOther than the other Bingo Roulette game we’ve already discussed, there really aren’t any other similar games to compare this one to. However, we did review another 36-Ball game recently titled Cash Cubes, which was similarly unique – although completely different – to Bingo Roulette. When purchasing your tickets, you can choose to play for 5p, 10p, 25p, or 50p per ticket, for a maximum of £2 per round if you choose to play all four chip colours.
The gameplay follows an obvious format, with the roulette wheel being spun repeatedly to determine each call. When a number hits, it will be removed from those shown on the roulette wheel, providing a handy indicator of how far into the current round you are. If you have one or more chips on the number called, those chips will be removed – again, this allows you to see at a glance how you are doing with each chip colour. Should two or more players hit their eighth chip on the same call, the prize will be divided equally between them. This seems to occur frequently in my experience, which does reduce the value of winning significantly.

Bingo Roulette Winning PlayerI was hoping that Tombola would build in some kind of bonus round into Bingo Roulette. There’s an obvious opportunity here for a roulette-themed special feature of sorts, and I’d love to see something like that included should there ever be a Bingo Roulette 2. Fortunately, we do at least get a couple of progressive jackpots to aim for!

Each round offers two potential progressive jackpots – the larger jackpot seeds at £2,000 and is triggered for completing an eight-number ticket within 10 calls, whilst the smaller jackpot seeds at £200 and is paid for completing your ticket within 12 calls. Both of these seem like relatively tight windows to hit, in my opinion, which probably explains why the larger jackpot currently stands at close to £10,000!

I’m really glad I stumbled upon bingo roulette – I enjoy both games on their own, but this combination of both is possibly even better! If you’re looking for an interesting new game of online bingo to try, I’d absolutely recommend this one.
