Right from the moment you read the title of Mecca’s Best Odds Bingo, it’s difficult not to have high expectations for the game. Including the word, ‘best’ in the title of any product is always a brave decision, especially in a hugely crowded market such as the world of online bingo. In contrast to online slots and casino games, online bingo is strangely not required to display the Return to Player (RTP) percentage for each game within the software. With that in mind, how do we judge whether B.O.B. truly is the bingo game with the greatest player odds? Let’s investigate!
This 50-Ball speed bingo game comes with a couple of progressive jackpot prizes to spice up the action. That’s probably a good thing, as the standard prizes for each round that I observed whilst writing this review tended only to be around 40-50x the cost of a single ticket – that wouldn’t be particularly impressive under normal circumstances, but it’s downright disappointing when you factor in that you are forced to purchase 10 tickets in order to participate. Fortunately, the ‘BOB’s Your Uncle’ jackpot pays a minimum of £100, increasing by 1% of the total ticket sales for each round until the prize is won.

Best Odds BingoThe bingo sites that offer B.O.B. make a big deal of its apparent ‘best odds’ status, and the game is heavily themed around this aspect of its gameplay. It’s certainly a well-presented and great-looking game of bingo, undoubtedly helped by its attractive blue and purple colour scheme. This is a 50-ball speed bingo game, so the developers have replaced the traditional bingo caller with a simple ‘ping’ each time a number is drawn to help ensure that each round lasts only a few minutes. In the case of a progressive jackpot winning round, where the ticket is called within 16 balls or less, the entire game can be over within a little over a minute!
Best Odds Bingo uses what would normally be described as simplified tickets by default. Each ticket contains two rows of five numbers, and every player is required to purchase ten tickets for every round they wish to participate. There is also a limit of just 25 players enforced during each game, and these two rules together are intended to ensure that every player has a great chance – and an equal chance – of collecting a prize during each game. According to the games help pages, some rounds of BOB will award only a single prize per round for completing a ‘full house’, but every game I observed included a one-line prize and the two-line or full house payout. I checked the schedule to see if there was any mention of when the one-line and two-line games are available, but I couldn’t find any information regarding this.

Best Odds Bingo GameplayBest Odds Bingo may seem a little unusual to some players, as it uses an uncommon 50-Ball bingo format that is much faster than the traditional 75 and 90-Ball formats that are currently much more popular online. When you are ready to play, the first thing to do is purchase your tickets! There are three different B.O.B. rooms – the 50p ticket room is open from 9AM to 1AM each day, whilst the £1.50 and £2.50 rooms have more limited hours of 6PM-10PM and 8PM-11PM respectively. Whichever room you decide to join, you’ll always be required to purchase ten tickets for every round you wish to participate in. This can make B.O.B. quite an expensive game to play – even the 50p room will cost you £5.00 for each two-minute game round, whilst the higher-priced rooms will charge you £15 or £25 every couple of minutes or so. Your chances of winning a game of Best Odds Bingo may well be higher than other competing games, but I can still imagine the cost of entry being prohibitive for some.

This is a fixed prize that will be paid if the winning player(s) complete their entire card in 20 calls or less. I was playing in the 50p room whilst writing this review, and in that game, this jackpot was paying £20 per game – that’s not a lot when you are paying £5 to play in the first place, but it did at least seem to be won fairly regularly.

The second jackpot prize is a little more impressive – the “Bob’s Your Uncle” progressive has a seed value of £100, meaning that you are guaranteed to win at least that much if you are lucky enough to complete your full ticket in 16 calls or less.
The jackpot will grow by 1% of the total prize fund after every round played without a jackpot prize being won. With each round lasting just a couple of minutes, this can result in a fairly substantial increase for every hour that passes between jackpot payouts.
This prize still seems to be won at least once daily, though, so you are unlikely to see the payout rise much above £250 before a player collects it.

So, the big question has to be – does Best Odds Bingo live up to its name? To be honest, I’m not entirely sure that the game offers a greater RTP than most other online bingo rooms – forcing every player to spend the same amount for each round does not technically increase anybody’s odds – it just ensures an even playing field.
Nevertheless, I do enjoy the fact that playing this game ensures you will win relatively often – even if the prize may not be as large as some other bingo games.
