No, your eyes are not deceiving you – they really do make bingo games about anything and everything nowadays, even famous ITV soap operas! With such a big-name license like Coronation Street Bingo being attached to this 90-Ball bingo game, you’d be forgiven for expecting something special – or at least a little unique. Unfortunately, I can’t fulfil your expectations this time around – I understand that the original version of this game included some ‘classic’ cutscenes from the show, but those were removed at some point when the game became part of the ‘TV Specials’ series of online bingo games.
What we have now is a typical 90-Ball bingo game with three prizes for one line, two lines, and a full house. Despite the gameplay being nothing special by online bingo standards, this is still a very popular game that gets extremely busy during weeknights – I assume this probably coincides to some extent with when the show is being shown on TV. We do at least get a ‘Golden Cobbles’ jackpot feature, but it’s not particularly exciting and only boasts a maximum payout of £500. You could easily win more with the regular progressive jackpots shared between the games in the ‘TV Specials’ category.

If you’ve played any of the other Electraworks 90-Ball bingo games, you’ve pretty much-seen everything that Coronation Street Bingo has to offer already. In fact, there’s very little to separate this from any other typical 90-Ball bingo room, full stop! It certainly isn’t anything like the Deal or No Deal Bingo games, which incorporated several aspects of the television show into the bingo experience; to be fair, though, it is quite difficult to imagine how such a thing could be done with a show such as Coronation Street!
The tickets are laid out in the usual 90-Ball format – three rows of five numbers each, along with four empty spaces that are necessary as each column only includes numbers within a ten-number range. This really doesn’t matter very much when the computer marks off the cards for you, in all honesty, but it was essential back in the days of trying to mark off a dozen or more tickets by yourself at a bingo hall!
The 90-Ball bingo format is by far the most popular variant of the game in the United Kingdom, so it’s unlikely you’ll need a refresher on this particular bingo game. Nevertheless, we have a complete guide to all bingo variants available on our site, which may be worth a read if you are new to playing bingo online rather than in person.
Ticket prices for Coronation Street Bingo vary depending on the time of day and the number of players participating at the time. During the time I was testing the game, the lowest prices I witnessed were just 10p per ticket, whilst the highest was still low at only 25p each. The full house prize seems to average roughly 500x the cost of a single ticket, but again this can vary wildly depending on the number of players who are playing during each round.
Each game typically offers three prizes – the first player to complete a single line on one of their tickets will collect the lowest of the three, whilst the person who manages to fill two of their three available lines will bank a larger two-line prize. The first player to complete an entire ticket will collect the full house prize and also stands a shot at collecting the Golden Cobbles Jackpot – see below for details.
The only special feature of Coronation Street Bingo is the ‘Golden Cobbles Jackpot’, which works similarly to the jackpot prize offered in X Factor Bingo. However, this seems to be nothing more than a coincidence as X Factor Bingo is not available at the same sites as Coronation Street and is not part of the TV Specials series either. If you’re curious, the other TV Specials games include Emmerdale, The Chase, Deal or No Deal, and Friends, amongst a couple of other lesser-known properties.
The ‘Golden Cobbles’ ticket is a shared ticket displayed in the top-right corner of the screen alongside the tickets you purchased. If the final number called in a game happens to appear on the Golden Cobbles ticket, the full house winner will receive an additional prize determined by the position of that final number.
The smallest Golden Cobbles prize is just £5, which is paid to the full house winner provided their final number appears anywhere on the shared ticket. If their final number happens to complete a line, this prize is increased to £50. Should the final number complete a second line, the full house winner will have their prize topped up by £150. Finally, the lucky player who wins a game that also completes the Golden Cobbles ticket simultaneously will win a £500 jackpot in addition to the regular full house prize paid from the regular game round.
The ‘Premiere Jackpots’ are progressive prizes available in all TV Specials bingo games when played at Gala Bingo, Foxy Bingo, Corals, Cheeky Bingo, or Ladbrokes.
There are five Premiere Jackpots, and there are no requirements to win one – the prizes are awarded entirely at random, and you’ll see the extra funds appear in your balance if you are lucky enough to hit one! The smallest jackpot is dubbed the ‘hourly’ and pays a fixed sum of £25.00. The largest jackpot, meanwhile, can sometimes not be won for months at a time and currently stands at a little over £5,000.
I’m no fan of Coronation Street, but it really wouldn’t matter if I were – this is just a bog-standard 90-Ball bingo game with virtually nothing to do with the show. Still, from what I hear about the show's quality nowadays, that may not be such a bad thing!
