Mystery Jackpot BingoMost of the Dragonfish bingo games utilise a very similar visual style. That’s great from a usability perspective, but it does sometimes make the games feel a little bland and samey. Dragonfish is far from the only developer to do this, though –most of Pragmatic Play’s bingo games, including The Gold Rush and Reels Room Bingo, would be difficult to tell apart were it not for the different background images featured in each game. Perhaps I’m asking too much then, but I’m far more impressed with Playtech’s efforts in this space – take Deal or No Deal 90-Ball, for example, which has a much more fleshed-out theme and a bonus round and progressive jackpot prize to boot.
I do like the fact that Mystery Jackpot utilises the 75-Ball format rather than the 90-Ball setup, which is much more common on this side of the pond. 75-Ball bingo features 5x5 tickets, each holding 24 unique numbers plus a ‘free’ star position in the centre. Whilst many 75-Ball games pay up to five prizes for completing one or more lines in addition to the full house, Mystery Jackpots offers just a single payout for matching the pattern displayed at the top of the screen. In addition, the patterns used in this game seem to be limited to the letters of the alphabet, so it's simple to predict what patterns are coming up in future rounds.
Players can purchase as little as one ticket per round or as many as 96 if they wish. At the time of writing, tickets were priced at just £0.05 each, and this seems to be a fixed price throughout the day, irrespective of the number of participating players or tickets sold.

If so, be sure to check out our guide to the format before beginning to play Mystery Jackpot, as it’s a little different from the traditional 90-Ball game. With that out of the way, it's time to buy your tickets – be sure to check the countdown timer before you do, however, as I occasionally noticed the game go on break for half an hour or more between rounds. You don’t want to get stuck with a bunch of tickets for a game that you haven’t got time to wait around for!
When the countdown finishes, the round begins with random numbers between 1 and 75 being called out in sequence. Your purchased tickets are displayed on the right side of the game window, and any numbers called that match those on your tickets will be marked off automatically. The current pattern is displayed in the status bar along the top of the game window, allowing you to see which positions on your tickets need to be marked off to win the prize for that round.
Each round pays only one prize to the first player (or players) who manage to mark off all the numbers on one of their tickets to match the shape of the current pattern. If multiple players manage to match the pattern shape on the same call, the total prize will be divided equally between them, although I never saw this happen while I was writing this review.

Although the game refers to this as a ‘jackpot’, it’s really just the full house payout for the current round. This is guaranteed to be between £10 and £500 and is not linked directly to the number of tickets sold or the number of participating players.
Pros
- It’s possible to win up to £500, even if the participating players have only bought in for a much smaller amount.
- Hiding the amount in the prize pool can seem like fun for a while.
Cons
- Just as you can win far more than players have bought in for, it can easily go the other way, and the ‘jackpot’ for the current round can sometimes be far lower than you would expect.
- If you don’t know how big the prize fund is, you can’t buy a few extra tickets when it's higher than usual.
